DEVIN TABOR 

This project embeds the natatorium into the cascading hills surrounding the site, using these grades as to generate the overall flowing form of the building structure. Structurally, the building is a developing idea of a new possibility of laminated timber which bows open to allow natural light to filter through the space creating a light, airy space throughout the building. Mimicking the site’s topography, the structure peels open in to create a smooth transition of motion from the south, down into the arching structure. Theater of the existing site guides the design in a manner of understanding how to landscape is already creating a flow and extends itself into the theater of the building of as well.
